◉ Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Assistant Chef Development to join our team in launching an exciting new Japanese casual restaurant project. The Assistant Chef will work closely with the Head Chef and management team to support menu creation, kitchen operations, staff training, and overall restaurant development. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone eager to grow in their culinary career while contributing to the success of a new venture.
◉ Responsibilities:
■ Menu Development:
Assist in designing an authentic Japanese menu that aligns with the restaurant’s concept and vision.
Support the creation of dishes combining traditional Japanese flavors with modern culinary techniques.
■ Culinary Expertise:
Apply knowledge of Japanese cooking methods and ingredients to ensure authentic and consistent flavors.
Maintain high standards for taste, presentation, and portioning in collaboration with the kitchen team.
■ Kitchen Operations:
Aid in managing kitchen workflows, ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety compliance.
Assist in inventory tracking, controlling food costs, and minimizing wastage.
■ Staff Training & Development:
Support training initiatives for kitchen staff to improve cooking techniques, safety practices, and teamwork.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration and creativity.
■ Quality Control:
Participate in quality checks to ensure dishes meet taste and presentation standards.
Offer input on refining recipes and kitchen processes to enhance overall quality.
■ Collaboration on New Project:
Work with the Head Chef and management to align on restaurant vision, branding, and operations.
Contribute to tastings, team discussions, and project execution to support a successful restaurant launch.
◉ Qualification:
■ A minimum of 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably with Japanese cuisine exposure.
■ Knowledge of Japanese culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles.
■ Basic experience in menu development and an eagerness to innovate.
■ Strong organizational and communication skills.
■ Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.
■ Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
