Job Summary:
The Fixed Assets and Materials Controller is responsible for the oversight and management of the organization's fixed assets and inventory of materials. This role ensures accurate tracking, reporting, and compliance with accounting standards, while optimizing the utilization and performance of all assets and materials.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fixed Asset Management:
-Maintain and update the fixed asset register, ensuring accurate recording of asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers.
-Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconciliations to verify the existence and condition of fixed assets.
-Prepare and post journal entries related to asset capitalization, depreciation, and disposals.
-Analyze fixed asset performance and assist in budgeting for new asset acquisitions.
2. Inventory Control:
-Monitor material inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock for operational needs while minimizing excess inventory.
-Implement inventory management processes, including forecasting and reorder point analysis.
-Conduct regular audits of materials to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
-Collaborate with procurement and operations teams to optimize inventory turnover and material usage.
