A PHP Web Developer is responsible for creating and implementing an array of Web-based products using PHP, MySQL, Ajax, and JavaScript. They develop back-end components, connect the application with other web services, and assist front-end developers by ensuring their work integrates with the application. Additionally, they might be involved in the development of the database and server-side infrastructure, as well as participating in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging.

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Writing clean, fast PHP to a high standard, in a timely and scalable way.**
2. **Troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality.**
3. **Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle.**
4. **Developing and deploying new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary.**
5. **Ensuring HTML, CSS, and shared JavaScript is valid and consistent across applications.**
6. **Preparing and maintaining all applications utilizing standard development tools.**
7. **Providing technical support for web, desktop or mobile applications.**
8. **Liaising with developers, designers, and system administrators to identify new features.**

**Skills and Qualifications:**

- **Proven software development experience in PHP.**
- **Understanding of open-source projects like Joomla, Drupal, Wikis, osCommerce, etc.**
- **Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, etc.**
- **Experience in common third-party APIs (Google, Facebook, Ebay, etc).**
- **Passion for best design and coding practices and a desire to develop new bold ideas.**
- **Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject is preferred.**

PHP Web Developers need to possess coding skills, be able to work with different software, and understand the latest technologies to create functional and user-friendly websites and applications. They typically work in a team setting, collaborating with other developers and designers to create a cohesive and functional product.
