Our kitchen is at the heart of these operations, offering a unique mix of comforting favorites. We’re looking for a Kitchen Coordinator to uphold these values while ensuring smooth operations and maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene.
Role Overview:
The Kitchen Coordinator acts as the bridge between management and the kitchen team, ensuring clear communication and fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere. This role is essential in maintaining our high standards, minimizing waste, and introducing fresh ideas and menu items. With leadership grounded in empathy and approachability, you’ll guide our kitchen team toward excellence without losing the camaraderie and family vibe that defines our workplace. Proficiency in basic computer tasks will also be key to effectively tracking and managing kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the point of communication between office management and kitchen staff, ensuring clarity and alignment of goals.
- Approach team members with compassion, encouragement, and constructive feedback, fostering a collaborative and positive kitchen environment.
- Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, creating a clean and safe workspace.
- Oversee inventory management and stock rotation to reduce waste and maintain ingredient quality.
- Handle supply ordering, ensuring sufficient stock levels while keeping costs under control.
- Monitor and minimize food wastage through effective procedures and staff training.
- Lead the team in introducing and executing new menu items, inspiring creativity and innovation.
- Mentor kitchen staff, encouraging their growth and passion for their roles.
- Regularly inspect kitchen equipment, coordinating maintenance as needed.
- Log stock counts and maintain accurate inventory records using spreadsheets.
- Calculate profit and loss per menu item to optimize pricing and profitability.
- Use basic computer skills to track and manage kitchen operations, including stock levels, order logs, and performance reports.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in kitchen operations, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a compassionate and supportive approach.
- Proficient in both English and Khmer.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with spreadsheets and data logging.
- Ability to foster a team-focused and family-oriented work environment.
- Confidence in training staff and introducing new ideas while maintaining professionalism and respect.
- Passion for good food and continuous improvement.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary: $600-$700 per month, depending on experience.
- 6 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift.
