Senior Accountant based in Phnom Penh

Position Summary: The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing and managing the daily accounting operations of Hanuman Group, which encompasses diverse businesses within the tourism sector. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, preparing financial reports, and providing valuable financial insights to support business decision-making. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced accounting professional with a strong understanding of Cambodian accounting standards and practices. Key Responsibilities: 1. Financial Accounting and Reporting: • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets. • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, in compliance with Cambodian Accounting Standards (CAS). • Ensure the integrity of financial records by maintaining proper documentation and internal controls. • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and accruals. • Prepare and file tax returns and ensure compliance with all applicable tax regulations. 2. Budgeting and Forecasting: • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts. • Monitor budget performance and analyze variances, providing explanations and recommendations. • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making. 3. Financial Analysis and Support: • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. • Prepare and present financial reports to management, providing insights and recommendations. • Provide financial support to various departments, including sales, operations, and management. • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. 4. Audit and Compliance: • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process. • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls. • Identify and implement improvements to internal controls and financial processes. 5. Team Leadership and Mentorship: • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support. • Review the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. • At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong understanding of Cambodian Accounting Standards (CAS). • Experience in the tourism or hospitality industry is a plus. • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., [Name Software]) and MS Excel. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity. • Fluency in English and Khmer.
