Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic SOC Intern to join our Security Operations Center (SOC) team. The intern will assist in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents under the guidance of experienced security professionals. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in cybersecurity and learn more about protecting an organization's infrastructure from potential threats. Key Responsibilities: •Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools and other security monitoring systems. •Assist in investigating and analyzing security incidents, escalating issues as needed. •Support the SOC team in identifying, responding to, and mitigating cybersecurity threats such as malware, phishing, and network intrusions. •Document and maintain detailed incident reports, tracking response activities and outcomes. •Participate in daily SOC operations and collaborate with the team to develop and refine security response processes. •Conduct research on current security trends and vulnerabilities to assist in improving the SOC’s response strategy. •Assist in vulnerability scans and log analysis. •Learn and adhere to cybersecurity best practices and policies in a real-time security environment. •Assist in improving the overall SOC processes and effectiveness by providing input and fresh perspectives. Qualifications: •A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. •Basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, threats, and vulnerabilities. •Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, etc.). •Interest in SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems, firewalls, and endpoint security solutions. •Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. •Eagerness to learn and develop skills in security operations. •Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. •Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network protocols is a plus. Preferred Skills: •Knowledge of incident response processes and tools. •Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or similar will be an advantage but not mandatory.
