Job Purpose:
To facilitate effective communication between Chinese-speaking individuals and local staff by accurately interpreting spoken and written content from Chinese to Khmer and vice versa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret conversations between Chinese-speaking staff/management and local employees during meetings, training, or daily operations.
- Translate documents, emails, notices, and reports from Chinese to Khmer and vice versa.
- Assist in translating technical, operational, or administrative materials as required.
- Provide interpretation support for visiting Chinese clients, partners, or consultants.
- Support the HR/Admin team in onboarding and training Chinese-speaking or local staff.
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in all interpreted and translated materials.
- Help resolve communication-related misunderstandings or cultural differences.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chinese language, interpretation, or related field (preferred).
- Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) and [Khmer/English] — both verbal and written.
- Proven experience as an interpreter or translator (1–3 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of cultural sensitivities and professional conduct.
- Excellent listening, memory, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based, with occasional site visits or travel as needed.
- Flexible working hours depending on meetings or project schedules.
Location: Phnom Penh Chrouy Changva, Chrouy Changva, Phnom Penh
