• Leadership skills and patience for working with staff, parents and students of all ages.
• Working closely and communicating with students’ parents
• Helping assess students’ needs and development
• Selecting, training, supporting and assessing staff
• Providing guidance to staff to help resolve issues with students
• Using data to track student performance and produce reports
• Working with external advisors and school governors
• Ensuring the safety of all children in the institution/programme
• Manage the school budget for all required expenditures such as learning materials, salaries, and also extracurricular activities.
• Arrange and oversee parent-teacher meetings.
• Prepare the teachers, students, and other staff members for inspections conducted by the regulatory authority.
• Create a diverse, dynamic, and inclusive environment among the teachers and students.
• Take classes when required to cover for sickness and absence of teachers.
• Oversee teaching at the school and ensure the classes are covering and meeting the requirements set out by the governing body.
• Develop and implement effective processes for the learning and development of children.
• Manage the reviews of teachers and other teaching staff within the school community.
• Ensure that protocol is followed for any untoward situations that arise, such as assault within the school, instability of students' mental health, and safeguarding of students.
• Implement safeguarding procedures as required.
• Developing a strategic plan for the school, in consultation with the School Executive, including the preparation of a staffing and resource plan.
• Managing and monitoring of implementation of the resource allocation process within the school.
• Dealing with staff recruitment matters that fall within the remit of the school.
• Creating a supportive working environment for all staff in the school and fostering their career development.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the Board.
• Managing relevant disciplinary procedures for both staff and students.
