Social Compliance Auditor

Job Requirements 1. Educational Background • Bachelor’s degree or above, with no strict limitation on the field of study. However, majors such as Environmental Science, Sociology, International Relations, or Business Administration are preferred. 2. Work Experience • Prior experience in supply chain management, factory management, quality control, corporate social responsibility (CSR), or related fields is preferred. • Familiarity with audit processes (e.g., BSCI, SA8000, Sedex, or WRAP) is a competitive advantage. 3. Professional Knowledge • Knowledge of international social compliance standards (e.g., ISO 26000, SA8000, BSCI) and local labor laws. • A strong understanding of environmental regulations, occupational health and safety, and human rights issues. 4. Skill Requirements • Language Skills: Proficiency in English for effective communication and audit report writing; additional language skills (e.g., local languages) are a plus. • Communication Skills: Strong ability to interact with people from various backgrounds, including suppliers, employees, and management. • Analytical Skills: Ability to identify issues quickly and propose improvement solutions. • Independence: Capable of conducting audits independently while also working collaboratively within a team. 5. Other Requirements • Willingness to travel frequently, especially for supply chains that span across regions or countries. • High integrity, strong sense of professional ethics, and responsibility.
Job Responsibilities 1. On-Site Auditing • Conduct on-site evaluations of suppliers, factories, and production facilities to assess working conditions, employee treatment, and occupational health and safety. • Verify whether businesses comply with labor laws, environmental policies, and international social compliance standards. 2. Document Review • Examine relevant records (e.g., employee payroll, attendance logs, safety training records) to validate the company’s compliance. • Ensure the authenticity and accuracy of supply chain documentation, avoiding falsification. 3. Risk Assessment • Identify potential social compliance risks within the supply chain, such as the use of child labor, excessive overtime, or workplace safety hazards. • Provide improvement recommendations and develop risk mitigation plans for businesses. 4. Report Writing • Prepare detailed reports based on audit findings, documenting issues and offering professional recommendations. • Submit reports to corporate clients or certification bodies and participate in discussions regarding corrective action plans. 5. Improvement Monitoring • Follow up on corrective actions taken by audited entities to ensure implementation of recommendations. • Conduct re-audits to verify the effectiveness of improvements and drive continuous progress. 6. Training and Guidance • Deliver training on social compliance standards to suppliers and internal teams. • Guide companies in establishing and improving their social responsibility management systems. 7. Industry Communication • Participate in industry meetings or forums to share audit experiences and stay updated on the latest compliance trends. • Maintain communication with certification bodies, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
