Job Description: Kindergarten/Early Years Teacher Position Overview: We are seeking a nurturing and passionate Kindergarten/Early Years Teacher to join our school. As a teacher in this role, you will be responsible for providing a stimulating and supportive learning environment for young children. This is a full-time position focused on fostering the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children in their early years.
Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: ● Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and activities to meet the needs of young learners. ● Create well-rounded lessons that align with the curriculum and promote holistic development, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. ● Foster a love for learning through engaging and interactive experiences. Classroom Management: ● Establish a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where children feel valued and supported. ● Set clear expectations for behaviour and maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere. ● Manage transitions effectively and create a well-organised and stimulating learning environment. Individualised Instruction and Assessment: ● Recognise and accommodate the diverse learning needs and abilities of young children. ● Provide individualised support and guidance to students, including those with unique learning styles or challenges. ● Assess student progress through observation, informal assessments, and documentation of their achievements. Parent Communication and Partnership: ● Foster strong relationships with parents/guardians through regular communication and collaboration. ● Share information about students' progress, achievements, and areas for improvement. ● Involve parents/guardians in their child's learning journey and provide guidance on extending learning at home. Enquiry Based Learning and Creativity: ● Emphasise inquiry-based learning as a foundation for children's development and learning experiences. ● Create opportunities for children to engage in imaginative play, problem-solving, and creative expression. ● Integrate arts, music, movement, and other creative activities into the curriculum. Social and Emotional Development: ● Support children in developing social skills, self-regulation, empathy, and positive relationships with peers and adults. ● Create a nurturing environment that promotes emotional well-being and builds children's self-esteem. ● Implement strategies to address behavioural challenges and foster positive behaviour management. Professional Development and Collaboration: ● Stay updated with current research and best practices in early childhood education. ● Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge. ● Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to a positive and supportive team environment. ● Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events as required. Qualifications and Requirements: ● Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred. ● Teaching certification/licence or TEFL/TESOL. ● Experience teaching in a Kindergarten or early years setting. ● Strong knowledge of early childhood development and appropriate teaching methodologies. ● Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children. ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues. ● Ability to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment. ● Creativity and the ability to design engaging and age-appropriate activities. ● Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
